What it means

The device agent is the Layer 1 Agent as it lives on a machine: a small app that reads what is already on the disk, about every 15 minutes, and sends signals to your console.

It keeps working offline and sends its results when the device reconnects. Sensitive values, such as the contents of a key, are removed on the device before anything leaves it.

Why it matters

A device that does not report is a device you cannot govern. The agent is what makes the AI on it visible.
