1.What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — do a similar job. This policy covers all of them, and "cookies" below means any of them.

2.How consent works here

The first time you visit, a banner asks you to accept all cookies, reject everything that is not strictly necessary, or choose category by category. Nothing optional is set before you answer, and if you never answer, nothing optional is ever set. Your answer takes effect at once and is stored in a cookie named endlayer_consent.

So that we can show consent was given, as the law requires, our server also keeps a record of each choice: a random consent ID, the time, what you chose, the date of this policy, how you chose (accept all, reject or a saved selection), the page you were on, your browser type, your country and your IP address with its last part removed. It holds no name, email or account. The same consent ID is in your cookie and is shown in the panel on this page, so if you ask us about a choice we can find its record. A withdrawal is recorded the same way.

The records are stored privately with our hosting provider, Vercel, in Frankfurt (Germany), and used for nothing else. Our legal basis is compliance with a legal obligation: GDPR Article 7(1) requires us to be able to demonstrate consent. Each record is deleted automatically 3 years after the choice. To see or ask about your record, email hello@endlayer.com with your consent ID; the Privacy Policy sets out your other rights.

The choice lasts 180 days, after which we ask again. If we add a category or change this policy in a way that matters, we ask again sooner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the panel on this page or from "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page; withdrawing removes the optional cookies and stops the scripts they belong to.

3.What we actually use

Consent record (strictly necessary, cookie, 180 days). Named endlayer_consent. It holds a version number, one on/off flag per optional category, the time you decided and a random consent ID that matches our record of your choice. The ID is not linked to your name, email or account, and the cookie is sent only to www.endlayer.ai.

Theme preference (strictly necessary, local storage, persistent). A single key remembering whether you chose light mode, dark mode, or system default. It contains no identifier and never leaves your browser.

Closed announcement (strictly necessary, local storage, persistent). If you close the bar at the top of the site, a single key remembers which message you closed, so it stays closed until there is a new one. It contains no identifier and never leaves your browser.

Hosting and security (strictly necessary, session). Our host may set short-lived cookies to route requests correctly and to mitigate abuse. These carry no marketing function.

Analytics (optional, off by default). Every page carries the Google Analytics 4 tag in Google's Consent Mode, with analytics storage denied until you decide. While it is denied the tag sets no cookies and sends Google only cookieless measurement pings with no identifier. If you turn this category on, it sets its `_ga` cookies (up to two years) to count page views and interactions. Turning it off denies storage again and deletes those cookies.

Embedded video (YouTube, only when you press play). The homepage introduction video is a still image until you press play. Pressing play loads YouTube's player from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy enhanced mode, and from then on YouTube may store data in your browser, under Google's privacy policy, to play the video and measure its views. If you never press play, nothing from YouTube loads. To avoid the embedded player entirely, use the “Watch on YouTube” link instead.

Marketing (optional, off by default). Reserved for advertising or CRM cookies. Nothing on the site sets one today; the category exists so that your choice is already recorded if that changes, and we will update this section before it does.

4.What we don't use

No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking pixels. No social media cookies unless you actively click through to a social platform, at which point that platform's own policy applies. No fingerprinting.

5.Your choices

Use the panel at the top of this page, or "Cookie settings" in the footer, to see what is on, change it, or withdraw consent entirely. Every browser also lets you view, delete, and block cookies and clear local storage — usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking everything is fine here: the only things you will lose are the site remembering your consent choice and your theme preference.

You can also use your operating system's "prefers dark mode" setting instead, which we respect automatically and which requires no storage at all.

External links, including the "Ask an AI" links in the footer, take you to third-party sites that set their own cookies under their own policies.
